7th Grade Exploratory Keyboarding

Course Description: This keyboarding class will introduce students to touch technique typing. Exploration of computer hardware and software will be emphasized in order to develop an understanding of how computer technology can make lives more efficient, productive, and happy. The class will also focus on basic computer concepts, producing professional business communication documents, and exploring careers. Students will be challenged to use creative thinking, critical thinking, problem solving, and teamwork skills to complete assignments. The course will incorporate workplace readiness skills that will benefit the students as they prepare for the workforce. Finally, all students that take a business course such as Keyboarding are automatically enrolled as FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) Members. Full membership privileges may be obtained by paying $10.00 in dues.

Homework is an essential component of the learning process and will be used to either reinforce the current lesson or prepare for a future lesson. Typically, fifteen minutes or less should be sufficient time to complete the homework assignment.
All students are to demonstrate respect towards other students, the teacher, and themselves. Specifically, arriving on time to class prepared with a positive attitude is expected daily.
